Shoresh is a warm and welcoming Hebrew School for ages 5–12. Shoresh in Hebrew means "Root". Just as strong roots allow a tree to flourish, our mission is to give every child a joyful Jewish foundation rooted in knowledge, pride, and identity. We strive to nurture a lifelong love of Judaism and a deep sense of belonging that will continue to grow for years to come.

Each Sunday, Jewish holidays, traditions, themes, and values come to life through creativity, hands-on experiences, and fun. Hebrew reading is woven naturally into the program, while children build incredible friendships and discover the joy of being part of something Jewish, warm, and truly their own.

Our goal at Shoresh is to give every child a strong foundation in Jewish life that fuels a lifelong love, joy, and pride in being Jewish. Your child will learn about the Jewish holidays, traditions, stories, and values of Judaism, while building Hebrew reading skills through Aleph Champ, our fun, interactive, karate-inspired program. Children progress through clearly defined, color-coded levels at their own pace, gaining new skills, celebrating each milestone, and building confidence along the way.
Shoresh feels less like a classroom and more like the highlight of the week. It's creative, energetic, personal, and filled with moments children can't wait to tell you about when they get home.
Shoresh attracts a diverse range of families from various backgrounds and affiliations, all who feel comfortable and welcome. No previous Hebrew school experience is needed, and every child is made to feel comfortable, included, and at home.
Devora Brook
Shoresh is directed by Devora Brook, a dedicated educator with a natural ability to connect with children and bring learning to life.
As a mother of three and a former classroom educator, Devora understands that every child is unique and learns best when they are recognized and valued as an individual. She is passionate about creating an environment where children feel comfortable, connected, and appreciated for exactly who they are.
Her goal is to make Jewish learning hands-on, meaningful, and genuinely fun by encouraging curiosity, creativity, and active participation, helping each child build a strong and lasting connection to their Jewish identity.
